Math:
Students continue working towards achieving their 3 goals that
we had set last week:
Goal 1: to know place value of each digit up to one million
Goal 2: to read big numbers in French with ease
Goal 3: to be able to record numbers in 4 different forms: symbolic,
expanded (forme développée), in words and in a place value table
Students work on exercises in math books; they have created a ‘mystery
number’ to share with class (emphasis on using correct place value vocabulary);
they integrate their knowledge of place value into solving math word problems.
Science:
We will be studying
electricity and electricity and magnetism throughout the first term. We started
our topic by learning about energy in general.
Our goals:
1. To know different forms of energy (potential, kinetic, electric, sound, thermal etc…)
2. Understand that one form of energy can be converted into another
3. To be able to give examples of different forms of energy and
energy conversion
