Le 27 février


Teacher’s corner:

1. Monday is math quiz on multiplication: 2 strategies of multiplying 2 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers.
Please practise your times tables. The website for practice sheets is


2. ELA: please continue working on your book report. Due date is March 12

3. Social Studies: Our objective is to explore and understand how traditions and life style of First nations peoples differed from one region of Canada to another. 
Students are reading factual texts about Iroquois First nations and answering questions about traditional life style. We discussed as a class what we need to do when we work with the text. Students’ goal is to be able to understand the text really well, which means they need to work with the dictionary, re-read the text, stop and check for understanding.
Students have to write down their answers in full , detailed sentences using correct forms of Passé Composé or Imparfait.

The next step is to choose another First nations people, study it and draw a diagram to compare and contrast the two First nations peoples.

Le 26 février



1. In music, we were supposed to finish our first challenge, which was to make a superhero or villain sound track. (Elsie)

2. Today we should have finished question D of oral presentation of eth book report. (Victoria)

3. We had social studies and we continued writing notes abour we read, using Imparfait or Passé Composé. (Caylee)

1. Today Relay Education came to talk to us about Chemistry and we did 4 science experiments. (Elsie)

2. In ELA, we continued working on our book reports. We are supposed to finish question C of the oral presentation. (Ilene)

3. Today we did PE and we hockey and we practised passing. (Evan)

4. Today we had social studies and we were reading our material on Iroquois and we were answering questions.  (Clark)

Teacher’s corner:

Relay Education worked once again with our students. This time we focused on chemical changes. Students participated in 4 experiments designed to demonstrate physical and chemical changes. Students discussed what indicates chemical change and identified which of the 4 experiments demonstrated chemical changes. Relay education also talked about renewable sources of energy such as methane gas extraction – biogas energy. The largest biogas plant for methane extraction is located Lethbridge.

ELA: please continue working on your book report. Class time is not enough to finish all on time.

Math: we are working on multiplication of 2 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers. Please practise you times tables!
