Teacher's corner:
We took the first week
of school to get into the swing of things and get used to speaking French after the summer break. Our “I speak French in class” system has started today.
We discussed why we are in French
Immersion and emphasized that it has to be every student’s choice to learn in
French and speak French.
Students will be
self-evaluating their level of speaking in French twice a day. Every Friday the
notebook with self-evaluations will go home to be signed by parents. It has to
be returned every Monday.
Green- I spoke French all the time
Yellow – I spoke French most of the time, I used some
English words but I remembered to speak French and self-corrected
Red – I spoke a lot of English
At the end of the day
students who spoke only French put their hands up and we put as many marbles
into our marble jar as there are hands. When the jar is filled the class will
have a special day.
Today we put only 5
marbles in the jarL I am sure we’ll do better tomorrow!
