Teacher’s corner:

Math: this week, students have worked on:

-identifying 3 D shapes
-learning characteristics of each shape, such as perpendicular and parallel surfaces and edges, etc…
-creating a description of a ‘Mystery shape’ for the class to guess
Students’ descriptions were used for our quiz on Thursday.

Sciences: Today was the last day to finish the shoebox project. Students described their work process in the notebooks using the past tense (Passé Composé) that we have been working on.
Next week students will present to the class, will record a video of their project and will put it on IRIS.

Art: Since last Friday students have been working on creating “Day” and “Night” paintings in the style of Ted Harrison. We looked at Ted Harrison’s work, listened to the poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee” by Robert W. Service and together identified characteristics of Ted Harrison’s art. Students use these characteristics to guide their work.
